This is my new blog. I started it today, January 1, 2013. I'm going to be posting here from now on.
A lot of what should be on this page -- explanations and reasons and so on -- are already in the first official post, this one. Basically I decided that Blogger was now stable and simple enough to use easily. I've been on Blogger for years, back when it was on a wonky server and kept shutting down when it got unexpectedly popular. I won't bother linking to the old blog though -- I wrote nothing particularly interesting. The internet is full of eager pleas to read crap as it is.
The only thing I don't have here that Wordpress did is levels of reply in the comments. But that's only because I'm not using Google's "dynamic view" setup. Personally I don't care for the dynamic view -- it just seems too gimmicky and busy for what I want, which is a simple, easy-to-read-and-administrate blog. And as a matter of fact, I may turn off comments altogether. I can't find words to express how over internet arguing I am. Lots of people still enjoy that kind of thing, but I can't be bothered, and I don't really need praise either. For now commenting is set up so you have to have an ID (Google or OpenID) to log in. It's not moderated -- I don't have time, or rather don't want to spend the time, dealing with that.
Okay, boring admin stuff over with. This is the new blog.
Update, March 30, 2013: I'll be crossposting to my Wordpress blog. Other sites may be added in the future.
